Talks on the Role of Insurance in Managing Risks for Chinese Enterprises in BRI Participants

A dialogue organized jointly by Sinoworld and Huatai Insurance Agency & Consultant Service Limited took place in Beijing and brought together over 50 participants who offered their insights into how insurance works for managing risks for Chinese enterprises participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Our partners at GrEco also took part in the event.

The Initiative, proposed by China in 2013, turns 10 in 2023. In the past 10 years, it has enhanced global connectivity and cooperation across Asia, Africa, and Europe. The conference organized by Sinoworld and Huatai offered a platform for in-depth discussions on the variety of risks that threaten Chinese enterprises in the varied legal landscape of the partnership.

The discussions centered on legal, cultural, and operational differences in risk management strategies and insurance practices in participating countries. The event also showcased the mutually beneficial effects of the Belt and Road Initiative, while at the same time offering networking opportunities and fostering new partnerships between the participants.

The insights gained from the dialogue will contribute to the success of Chinese enterprises and their international partners. Most importantly, the dialogue showcased the synergy arising from collaboration and exchange of knowledge and expertise. Custom solutions are key in achieving the overarching goals of BRI.
