During President Xi Jinping’s visit, Serbia and China signed a series of cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields. At an event held at the Serbian Palace, President Xi Jinping and Serbian leaders witnessed this historic moment and jointly promoted the further development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. These agreements and memorandums cover a wide range of areas from judicial cooperation to cultural exchanges, laying a solid foundation for the deepening and expansion of cooperation between the countries.

Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Internal and External Trade of the Republic of Serbia on Cooperation in Electronic Commerce
Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirović jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Internal and External Trade of the Republic of Serbia on Cooperation in Electronic Commerce in Belgrade.
China and Serbia have strong political mutual trust, fruitful results under the “Belt and Road” Initiative, strong economic and trade cooperation, and broad prospects for cooperation in the field of e-commerce. According to the Memorandum, the two sides will establish an e-commerce co-operation mechanism, strengthen policy communication and experience sharing, promote local co-operation, carry out joint research and personnel training, encourage e-commerce co-operation between enterprises of the two countries, and promote the connection between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large-scale e-commerce platforms, with a view to injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
To date, China has established bilateral e-commerce cooperation mechanisms with 31 countries, including Serbia.
Treaty between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Serbia on Mutual Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters
The two countries signed the Treaty between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Serbia on Mutual Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters, which strengthens counter-terrorism cooperation and deepens security cooperation. The two countries jointly oppose terrorism and call on the international community to strengthen co-operation. The two countries pledged to deepen cooperation in a number of areas, including the fight against human trafficking and cyber fraud, as well as the strengthening of contacts between migration authorities to jointly combat illegal migration.
