Republic of Serbia and People’s Republic of China are Committed to Further Improving Cooperation September 16, 2020 The Minister of Defense in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, stated today in a conversation with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade, Chen Bo, that Serbia will always maintain sincere friendship with People’s Republic of China. The meeting emphasized the common commitment to further improve cooperation between the two countries. Vulin assessed that the joint projects of the two countries are progressing well and that they are based on agreements and personal friendship between the president and the supreme commanders, Aleksandar Vučić and Xi Jinping. He expressed gratitude for the help that People’s Republic of China, in the spirit of steel friendship between the peoples of the two countries, sent to the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Army in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Vulin reminded that under great pressure and dissatisfaction from the European Union, the Government of the Republic of Serbia made a decision to stop all military exercises and all activities with all partners in the next six months, regardless of how to maintain the position of military neutrality, avoid or at least reduce the consequences of intensified attacks on our country, politics and economy. Republic of Serbia has managed to preserve military neutrality because we are convinced that this is the right measure of relations with all interested parties, Vulin emphasized, saying that our country supports the policy of People’s Republic of China. Vulin also sent an invitation to the Minister of National Defense of People’s Republic of China to visit Republic of Serbia in the coming period. Ambassador Chen Bo conveyed China’s strong support for preserving the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Serbia.
