The Government of the Republic of Serbia Has Introduced New Measures Due to Coronavirus Expansion

 

Until 8 am this morning there were 31 patients with confirmed coronavirus diagnosis in Serbia.

Because of the expansion of coronavirus diagnosed cases, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has imposed several measures for the purpose of preventing spreading of the virus.

Some of the key measures imposed by the Serbian Government are, as follows:

  • Closing of 44 small and medium cross-borders for road, railway and water traffic towards Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina;
  • Introduction of temporary ban of entering the territory of Serbia applicable to foreign nationals arriving from the areas with large number of coronavirus cases – Italy, Hubei Province in the Peoples Republic of China, parts of South Korea, Iran and parts of Switzerland (Canton of Ticino);
  • Mandatory self-isolation for Serbian citizens arriving from the above listed territories;
  • Prohibition for persons employed in health and social protection system of Serbia to travel to territories with intensive spreading of coronavirus;
  • Prohibition of public events in closed spaces with more than 100 attendees.

The prohibition of entering the territory of Serbia does not refer to foreign citizens who were residing at the previously mentioned territories  and who are participating in transportation of persons and goods and have obtained the consent of the Ministry of Health for entering the territory of Serbia.
