Kopilović & Kopilović Law Firm Belgrade Invited to Participate in the “Connecting China and Serbia, Expanding Economic Cooperation Horizons” Industrial Chain Services Coordination Exchange Event

On 6 July 2026, Kopilović & Kopilović Law Firm Belgrade was invited by Beijing Dacheng Law Firm (Jinan Office) to participate in the “Connecting China and Serbia, Expanding Economic Cooperation Horizons — Shandong Enterprises Delegation Visit to Serbia and Industrial Chain Services Coordination Exchange Event” held in Serbia.

As an important part of the “ShanHaiJing” Overseas Comprehensive Service Port’s delegation visit to Serbia, the event brought together representatives from Chinese industry associations, enterprises and professional service institutions in areas including foreign investment cooperation, architectural design, engineering and construction, trade and commerce, technology services and legal services. Representatives from Serbian local professional institutions in the fields of banking, legal services, accounting, commerce and logistics also participated in the discussions, exchanging views on investment opportunities, cooperation models and localized support services for Chinese enterprises entering the Serbian and wider Balkan markets.

During the event, participants engaged in extensive discussions on key issues related to Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Serbia. Against the backdrop of increasingly deepened China–Serbia economic and trade cooperation, representatives shared practical experiences regarding Chinese enterprises’ operations in Serbia and exchanged views on investment conditions, market opportunities and localization strategies. The discussions also focused on the comprehensive support services required by enterprises expanding overseas, covering areas such as customer service center development, cooperation opportunities in the wine industry, banking and financial services, accounting and tax services, legal services and logistics support. Representatives from various sectors shared their professional insights on strengthening resource coordination, improving overseas service capabilities and building a more comprehensive support ecosystem for Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Serbia and the Balkan region.

As one of the law firms invited, Ivana Kopilović, Managing Partner of Kopilović & Kopilović Law Firm Belgrade, delivered a presentation on Serbia’s investment legal environment. She introduced key legal considerations for foreign investors in Serbia, including company establishment, bank account opening, corporate compliance management, and employment and labour regulations. Drawing on the firm’s extensive experience in advising Chinese enterprises, Ms. Kopilović also shared practical recommendations regarding potential legal risks and compliance requirements, providing valuable guidance for enterprises planning to invest and operate in Serbia.

The event also formed part of the Serbian investment visit organized by the “ShanHaiJing” Overseas Comprehensive Service Port for enterprises from Shandong Province. During the visit, the first overseas service station of the “ShanHaiJing” platform was officially launched in Belgrade, Serbia. The establishment of the service station represents a further step toward building a localized, professional and long-term overseas support system for Chinese enterprises. Leveraging local resources, the service station will provide enterprises with comprehensive support including policy consultation, business matchmaking, legal assistance and risk management services, helping more Chinese enterprises use Serbia as a gateway to expand into the Balkan region and Central and Eastern European markets.
