On 15 October 2025, Ivana Kopilović, attorney-at-law, and managing partner, at Kopilović & Kopilović Law Firm, attended the international conference “Dialogues on China | 2025”, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia.
Organised by the Institute of International Politics and Economics, the conference convened leading scholars, diplomats, and policy experts to exchange insights on China’s evolving role in global politics, international economic relations, sustainable development, and its cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries. The opening session featured keynote remarks by Prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević, Director of IIPE, Ambassador Chen Bo, President of the China Institute of International Studies, and H.E. Mr. Li Ming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia.
The conference focused on strategic dialogues addressing China–Serbia bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on trade, infrastructure development, and investment. Sessions also explored China’s broader engagement in Europe, including initiatives under the Belt and Road Initiative and its participation in multilateral partnerships that shape regional economic dynamics.
During the conference, Ms. Ivana Kopilović attended Subforum 2: China–Serbia Trade and Investment Cooperation and Subforum 3: Infrastructure, Innovation, and Sustainable Development, observing the discussions and gaining first-hand insights into current initiatives, challenges, and opportunities for bilateral collaboration. These sessions provided an in-depth understanding of China’s strategic engagement in Serbia and the broader region, including its activities under the Belt and Road Initiative.
By engaging with these discussions, our firm continues to enhance its understanding of the economic, regulatory, and geopolitical contexts in which our clients operate. This ensures that our legal advice not only complies with domestic law but also aligns with the evolving international environment and cross-border business realities.
